Bus Stop 04:10
I enjoyed that part of the morning Just waiting there at the bus stop Sipping at my coffee and skimming the news As familiar faces appeared The bus had only the one destination We were strangers united by purpose Silently stood waiting outside the station And then, one day, a new face in the crowd You were there Smiling like you already knew me Your confidence worn like armour Breaching my forcefield of personal space Made useless by antipodean charm Refined in your movement, appearance and scent Clothes chosen with elegant purpose Intelligent thoughts with intriguing accent Never waited alone for that bus again You were there [Instrumental verse] Looking back all these years later I remember that time at the bus stop Who would have thought that a commute to work Would still be so clear in my mind? Sharing our travels, our bodies, our strife Came tumbling out from that first moment Passengers on each others journey through life And among all the stops we hop on and hop off You were there

The moon without ozone looks different But it’s always the same moon Sometimes you see it in the morning Sometimes in the afternoon I’m staring at it, it’s staring at you It’s staring at you The moon is a mirror The reflection of you A pool in the starlight A glimmer of proof I’m sending a postcard, addressed in your name It’s message will tell you what I can’t explain The moon disappeared, my day has begun I don’t need that moon anymore, I have the sun Its warm light brings promise I just live for today In the warmth of the sunlight, icy tears melt away The moon is a mirror, (The moon is a mirror) A reflection of you (A reflection of you) But I’m guided by sunlight (I’m guided by starlight) It shines with the truth (They shine with the truth) I’ll think of the moon (I’ll think of the moon) when the night comes again (when the night comes again) But I’ll see it as sunlight (I see it as starlight) I’ll see it as sunlight (But I see it as starlight) I’ll see it as sunlight (I see it as starlight) I’ll see it as sunlight (I see it as starlight) I’ll see it as sunlight (I see it as starlight) I’ll see it as sunlight (I see it as starlight) Sunlight (Starlight)

Sham Castle 04:56
A lovely evening, let's go for a walk We'll enjoy the sun and a luxurious talk We'll meet at the fountain outside your place I'll bring wine and glasses, just in case Minutes later and we're into the fields People, traffic, the noise of the city yields To nature, birdsong and paths through the trees Onwards uphill, we go where we please Wandering the fields looking over the city As we talk for hours Feeling I'm making lifelong memories Putting the world to rights We're one with the sunshine Adventure and friendship align Onwards we go, onto the golf course Full of old men, stereotype reinforced Barren expanse of weedkiller and grass Doesn't take long for us to get past Top of the hill Sham Castle looms ahead Built for Ralph Allen to see it from his bed You lay the blanket I'll open the wine In the shadow of this folly we will dine Wandering the fields looking over the city As we talk for hours Feeling I'm making lifelong memories Putting the world to rights We're one with the sunshine Adventure and friendship align Wandering the fields looking over the city As we talk for hours Feeling I'm making lifelong memories Putting the world to rights We're one with the sunshine Adventure and friendship align Then we pack up head back down into town Past uni buildings and students in their gowns It must be their graduation day Reminisce as we continue on our way Back in the city and our walk is at an end Just a few hours exploring with a friend Simple pleasure, only cost our time Meet again soon, I'll drop you a line Wandering the fields looking over the city As we talk for hours Feeling I'm making lifelong memories Putting the world to rights We're one with the sunshine Adventure and friendship align

Continuance 03:44
You pick my soul off the floor And brush off the dust and dirt Been so long since it's been touched It can't tell comfort or hurt You seem to like what you see I can't quite believe you're here Been on that floor for so long Human touch a new frontier And I'm aching for something More real than just dreaming A visceral feeling Fully consciously living Living more for myself than for the moment 'Cos the moment is fleeting And I want it to stay You build back my spirit Sanity back from the brink Replant my feet on the Earth Retrain my mind how to think Showed me I needed saving Couldn't see that I was lost Your presence essential Solitude my only cost And I'm aching for something More real than just dreaming A visceral feeling Fully consciously living Living more for myself than for the moment 'Cos the moment is fleeting And I want it to stay A life should be more to live To enjoy more than endure Hope we'll face it together Doesn't seem too premature But we'll start with this moment And see where we go from here I want you to come with me Help my doubts to disappear And I'm aching for something More real than just dreaming A visceral feeling Fully consciously living Living more for myself than for the moment 'Cos the moment is fleeting And I want it to stay I'm an offering at the Temple of absolution Sacrifice on the alter Of loving compassion My tears a libation for A moment in time This moment with you and Its continuance

The Witch 04:35
New morning's sun lights up the dew Out of the mist a figure comes through Foraging for leaves and wild flowers Is how she likes to spend these hours With gentle smile she deeply inhales The fresh day's scent tells of new tales Of what has passed and season's end And of which herbs she needs to tend But what is different's often feared Ways others live considered weird Peaceful actions frequently smeared Love for all life rarely revered Her humble home has all she needs Shelves full of herbs and jars of seeds Books written in her grandmothers hand Her ancestors have long known this land Over the fire a cauldron boils She sniffs and adds essential oils A new remedy to alleve People who come and don't believe That what is different should be feared Ways others live are just too weird Their peaceful actions must be smeared Their love for all life disappeared The witch is loved by no-one And yet she still loves them all But men with holy books have planned Her life of service cannot stand Her healing must face reprimand Peaceful beliefs must not expand Verse 3: All though the years the people came To ask her for help when ill or lame For nothing in return she healed them all Helping all of nature is her call As the years pass her beauty fades Sun toughens skin more every decade Dressed for outdoors in hat and gown Doesn't look the same as the people in town But what is different's often feared Ways others live considered weird Peaceful actions frequently smeared Love for all life rarely revered Kindness is like a delicate flower It needs protection from those in power They seek to undermine what they can't control Distrust of the other is their goal And so the important men spread lies They say she is the devil in disguise Despite her help through all their years People's minds are poisoned when they hear That what is different should be feared Ways others live are just too weird And peaceful actions must be smeared A love for all life disappeared The witch is loved by no-one And yet she still loves them all The men with holy books demand Her way of love must now be banned Her herbs and plants ripped off the land Her humble house crushed into sand The witch is loved by no-one

She glances at herself as she passes the mirror As beautiful now as the day when they first met She walks right past him, he doesn't even see her Absorbed in his screen, and will be for many hours yet Love is what you want Learn to see what you truly need Don't chain yourself to a life that isn't lived Allow your mind and heart and soul to be freed She throws herself into caring for her children Her loneliness outweighed by a busy family life But everyone needs passionate connection Something more than just playing the dutiful wife Love is what you want Learn to see what you truly need Don't chain yourself to a life that isn't lived Allow your mind and heart and soul to be freed [Double bass solo] [Sax solo] Love is what you want Learn to see what you truly need Don't chain yourself to a life that isn't lived Allow your mind and heart and soul to be freed

Suddenly revealed A vision in strobe light Beauty in freeze frame Burned into my soul Eyes alive with the music Your movement's electric You're lost in the moment Grace under control You're the only thing In the room Can't take my eyes Away from you Watch your body bring The music to Transcendence Lost in the feeling Not caring who's watching Just expressing the rhythm A euphonious heartbeat Flowing through your veins My heart has been captured Your delicate elegance Guided by passion Draws me like a siren I have to know your name You're the only thing In the room Can't take my eyes Away from you Watch your body bring The music to Transcendence

Gaining speed, racing into the sun Engines screaming Pushing us faster than we've ever Dared to go before Racing ahead, we're trying to outrun Memories from our lives Courting disaster, keeping going The pedal pushed to the floor We're abandoning your race We're leaving our past behind We've always felt out of place Our souls to the future assigned Racing to the sun The future's just begun We're facing it as one We're racing to the sun Ever onwards, getting away from here We've broken out Don't know where we're going, just as long As it is to somewhere new It may be hard but there's nothing to fear A clean beginning Opportunity growing, a chance to find The happiness we are due We're abandoning your race We're leaving our past behind We've always felt out of place Our souls to the future assigned Racing to the sun The future's just begun We're facing it as one We're racing to the sun Finished reconstruction of our minds We're winning the fight Liberation! Our metamorphosis Almost attained Spinning away from everything that Binds us to the past Elation! Onto the future Our humanity retained We're abandoning your race We're leaving our past behind We've always felt out of place Our souls to the future assigned Racing to the sun The future's just begun We're facing it as one We're racing to the sun I can't see the future but I can feel it And what I feel is how I feel with you So strap on in and join me for the journey The past is done it's time to start anew We're abandoning your race We're leaving our past behind We've always felt out of place Our souls to the future assigned Racing to the sun The future's just begun We're facing it as one We're racing to the sun Racing to the sun The future's just begun We're facing it as one We're racing to the sun Racing to the sun The future's just begun We're facing it as one We're racing to the sun

I Am The One 04:13
I'd heard a lot about you but I wasn't ready For the first time that we ever met Speechless from your beauty I looked pretty stupid A moment I will always regret Saw I'd blown that shot of Getting to know you But realised it's a matter of time The day will come again When we meet once more And that is when you will be mine I am the one that is going to possess you [I am the one] Live in your heart and never release you [I am the one] I am the one that is destined to have you It's only a matter of time I am the one that will always protect you [I am the one] Keep you safe and never abandon you [I am the one] I am the one that will always love you It's only a matter of time I asked my friends about you And they said to forget it Because you're with somebody else But these feelings so right You don't just abandon Despite what common sense tells I wasn't obsessive I just bided my time Planning what I would say When I met you again And I had a new chance To get you thinking my way I am the one that is going to possess you [I am the one] Live in your heart and never release you [I am the one] I am the one that is destined to have you It's only a matter of time I am the one that will always protect you [I am the one] Keep you safe and never abandon you [I am the one] I am the one that will always love you It's only a matter of time [Guitar solo] Several months pass before I saw you again You smiled and came over to me We got to know each other We really hit it off You moved your hand onto my knee You were getting so close I felt the warmth of your breath Dance across my face as we talked This was the moment I'd waited for so long And into my future you walked I am the one that is going to possess you [I am the one] Live in your heart and never release you [I am the one] I am the one that is destined to have you It's only a matter of time I am the one that will always protect you [I am the one] Keep you safe and never abandon you [I am the one] I am the one that will always love you It's only a matter of time I am the one that is going to possess you [I am the one] Live in your heart and never release you [I am the one] I am the one that is destined to have you It's only a matter of time I am the one that will always protect you [I am the one] Keep you safe and never abandon you [I am the one] I am the one that will always love you It's only a matter of time

Sleepy Welsh town on the coast's Windy headland her lonely outpost For miles around she can be seen Standing guard over aquamarine Majestic figure on column of stone Watching the sea but not alone Holding aloft her laurel ring Below her bronze humanity clings Let me take you there To the angel by the sea Winged victory over us Salt blowing in our hair Up her steps we climb Names of the dead around us Sacrifices of the past Gifting us this time Norman castle's ruined walls Landmark from our college halls Generations choosing to meet On the plinth under her feet Looking out over the bay To distant shipping on its way Pods of dolphins pass her by Here for a century, dignified Let me take you there To the angel by the sea Winged victory overhead Salt blowing in our hair Up her steps we climb Names of the dead around us Sacrifices of the past Gifting us this time The weather up here can be tough But we'll never get enough Of her sculpted beauty on bleak days A memory that will always stay So thanks to you, Mario R Your art lives on by the sandbar Forever part of this small town A place to go when feeling down Let me take you there To the angel by the sea Winged victory overhead Salt blowing in our hair Up her steps we climb Names of the dead around us Sacrifices of the past Gifting us this time [Instrumental] Let me take you there To the angel by the sea Winged victory overhead Salt blowing in our hair Up her steps we climb Names of the dead around us Sacrifices of the past Gifting us this time

The tide is timeless Ebbing like our fate Returning for love Retreating from hate Flowing like water Into a vast grey sea All that we've done And all that we will be The water moves quickly It's drawing us along Away from our pasts Towards what lies beyond Nothing can stop it We're pulled relentlessly From all that we've done To all that we will be

about

What we all want, in the end, is love. At different times of our lives we can be experiencing it, looking back on it, or looking forward to it. Or, sometimes, all three. By its nature, love has elements of both hope and retrospection.

This is a collection of songs about love in many forms.
